Sweet synchronicity

I think this is the first time ever in my quarter-century in Islam that the days of Ramadan have coincided with the days of the Gregorian month. Ramadan first was also September first, so there is no need for mental juggling between the Islamic date and the days by which the society I live in operates. (more…)

How often has Azhar Usman made us laugh? Today I read words of his that brought tears to my eyes. In a tribute to the late Imam WD Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him), he speaks of healing the rifts that exist in the American Muslim community, and I know they exist here in Canada too.
